This scholarship program is completed with the Fundación Iberdrola España – Museo del Prado International Scholarship for Training and Research in Restoration for young people with degrees from Universities/Restoration Schools located in Mexico, whose awardee will join the program shortly for a period of twelve months and will receive a total amount of €19,500.

Since 2012, the foundation has been a Supporting Member of the Museo Nacional del Prado, by promoting the museum’s Restoration Workshop with three annual training and research scholarships for specialists in heritage preservation and restoration.

In addition to the Museo del Prado, Fundación Iberdrola España also collaborates with the Museo de Bellas Artes of Bilbao to grant scholarships that contribute to training and research in the preservation and restoration of works of art field.

These grants are part of its Scholarship Program, which also includes master’s scholarships in energy and environment at universities in Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States as well as research grants in Spain. In addition, since 2011, Fundación Iberdrola España has allocated a total of 13 million euros to the Art and Culture area, which mainly focuses its resources on the Restorations Program, which supports the restoration workshops of referral museums for the preservation of their pictorial and artistic heritage; and the Lighting Program, which deals with the design, execution, and financing of artistic lighting projects in remarkable buildings and monuments, including the lighting of the Prado project, which aims to provide the museum’s exhibition halls, both those housing the permanent collection and those containing temporary exhibitions, with a new lighting system using LED technology to replace the previous system based on halogen lamps.
