The ‘Museorum’ exhibition arrives in Manzanares (Ciudad Real). This is the third stop of this cycle, organized by Fundación Iberdrola España, which travels through Castilla La-Mancha to make the art of the provincial museums available to everyone in open-air spaces, through a selection of their historical and most outstanding works.
Over 40 panels have been installed in the Plaza de la Constitución. Its inauguration, which is part of the events on the occasion of the Day of the Region, next May 31, took place this morning. Among others, Dionisio Julián Nieva, mayor of Manzanares, and Ramón Castresana, director of Fundación Iberdrola España, took part in it.
Among the pieces on display are the Caballero de Los Villares, the Roman Dolls of Ontur, the Lekanis from the necropolis of El Toril, the Visigothic Cancel from the basilica of Eio, the Piquera de Liétor candle, the Cruz de término de Albacete, the Dolorosa de Salzillo and the Portrait of Alberto Sánchez by Benjamín Palencia, all from the Museum of Albacete.
From the Museum of Ciudad Real, in particular, can be seen the Anancus arvernensis, the Sword of carp tongue, the Stela of warrior of Alamillo, the Golden Ring of Alcubillas, the Golden Maravedí of Alfonso VIII, the Almohad Tinaja of Alarcos, the Cover of the Synagogue of Ciudad Real and the Donkeys of Antonio López Torres.
After the success of the exhibition in Cuenca and Alcolea de Calatrava, `Museorum’ will continue its tour through some towns in Castilla-La Mancha: Tobarra, Cifuentes, Bolaños de Calatrava, Quintanar del Rey, Illescas, La Roda, Humanes and Torrijos.
