• Museorum is the new proposal of the Iberdrola Foundation that will bring the art of the art galleries to ten localities of the region

Fundación Iberdrola España and the Regional Ministry of Castilla – La Mancha have joined forces to carry out ‘Museorum’, a new traveling outdoor exhibition that aims to bring the art of museums closer to their citizens. Made up of 42 panels, it will show, through photographs, a selection of the most representative pieces from the five provincial galleries, some of which date back more than 3.5 million years.

Fundación Iberdrola España thus renews its commitment to the promotion of culture, after the success of the two editions of ‘Un Patrimonio de todos’, an exhibition that has accumulated more than 150,000 visits in its passage through 30 towns in Castilla-La Mancha. 

Among the pieces in the exhibition are works such as the Idol of Chillarón, the Equestrian Scepter of Puebla del Salvador (Museum of Cuenca), the Tent-tongued Sword, the Warrior Stela of Alamillo (Museum of Ciudad Real), the Ballast of Ercávica, the Bust of Lucio César of Ercávica (Museum of Cuenca), the Virgin of the Milk of Alonso Cano, the Terracottas of the Life of the Virgin of La Roldana (Museum of Guadalajara) and the Immaculate Oballe of El Greco (Museum of Santa Cruz).

“Museorum” will begin its tour of the geography of Castilla-La Mancha on February 13 in the city of Cuenca. It will then continue to Alcolea de Calatrava, Torrijos, Tobarra, Cifuentes, Bolaños de Calatrava, Quintanar del Rey, Illescas, and La Roda, with Humanes being the last stage of this exhibition cycle in the region.

During the presentation ceremony in Toledo, Rosa Ana Rodríguez, the Regional Minister of Education, Culture, and Sports, and Fernando García, the President of Fundación Iberdrola España, highlighted the commitment of both entities to the care, maintenance, and promotion of art and culture. Also present were the director of Fundación Iberdrola España, Ramón Castresana, the managing director of Fundación Impulsa, Gabriel González, the deputy minister of Culture and Sports, Ana Vanesa Muñoz and the delegate of Iberdrola in Castilla-La Mancha, Francisco Javier Nicolás.

This project is in addition to others that the company has carried out in Castilla-La Mancha in recent years, including the illuminations of the Monastery of Uclés, the Basilica of Nuestra Señora del Prado in Talavera de la Reina, and the Cathedral of Sigüenza, among others, as well as exhibition projects such as El Prado en las calles and Un Patrimonio de Todos.
