Fundación Iberdrola España and the Museo del Prado share the goal of disseminating art and culture, highlighting their contribution to sustainable development, and helping to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (Agenda 2030 of the United Nations). This objective is materialized in different initiatives such as support for the Pinacoteca’s Restoration Workshop, the awarding of scholarships for young restorers, and the exhibition “El Prado en las Calles”, which was launched as part of the Museum’s Bicentennial commemoration in 2018.
The ultimate aim of this exhibition is to bring art closer to all citizens, with magnificent 1:1 scale reproductions placed at street level to provide everyone with an experience very similar to visiting the Pinacoteca itself.
The huge success of the exhibition in the venues it visited during the Bicentennial encouraged us to continue its itinerancy, first in Castilla-La Mancha and Castilla y León and, finally, in Extremadura. Now, we have the opportunity to give continuity to the exhibition with a new cycle of itinerancy through Andalucía. This project, organized together with the Museo Nacional del Prado, would not be possible without the collaboration of the city councils and the hospitality of the cities that host the exhibition.
