- The Tomillo Foundation launches its “Energy Efficiency Training” project with funding of 39,965.88€ from Fundación Iberdrola España.
- The entity has over 37 years of experience with socially excluded groups in the Usera neighborhood.
- In 2020, 897 young people went through the different training itineraries, 646 took vocational training, and 1,133 were accompanied in the orientation and access to employment itinerary.
The Tomillo Foundation is one of the recurring entities in the FIBE calls. The entity’s project develops an innovative and effective model of technical training in energy efficiency and saving, sustainability, and environmental care, aimed at students in vulnerable situations. As for its Initial and Intermediate Vocational Training activity, it focuses on the specialties of Administration, Computer Science, Electricity, and Hotel and Catering.
Project
Through the Energy Efficiency Training project, we seek to promote a model of socio-educational intervention, sustainable and inclusive through 3 pillars:
- Training linked to energy efficiency, sustainability, and the fight against poverty.
- Improvement of training and professional skills of young people.
- Search for employability, through accompaniment, and socio-labor orientation utilizing social integration.
The project will benefit a total of 254 users, both students of the Tomillo Foundation’s vocational training center and teenagers belonging to the Comprehensive Care Services for Children, Teenagers, and Families managed by the organization.
The participants are teenagers and young people, between the ages of 12 and 18 who receive socio-educational intervention the entity’s programs or are studying their Basic Vocational Training itinerary in the Vocational Training Center after not having obtained the ESO (Compulsory Secondary Education) diploma.
